Grass Family

Gramineae

The Grass Family is an incredibly large family and contains almost all grains and grasses. The most common garden vegetable found in the is family are Zea mays (corn) and Sorghum bicolor. Corn is particularly tricky to save since it relays on the wind for pollination, causing cross-pollination between varieties to happen very easily. The pollen can travel for miles before landing on one of the hairs on the new ear of corn.

Please, help us help you support our right to share seeds by donating now. All you need to do is click the green donate button to the left to do your part. Every little bit counts.
